The Perioperative GNTP supports the individual in developing principles of clinical practice that promote the transference of knowledge, skills and behaviour for life-long learning. Through support and reflection, the program will empower the individual to make well-informed evidence-based decisions throughout their career.The GNTP is in keeping with Calvary’s values of Hospitality, Healing, Stewardship and Respect. In practice Calvary recognises the worth of the individual, acknowledges talents and skills by providing support, education and mentoring to foster an atmosphere of ’Being for Others’.Our program has been designed to develop you into a competent and confident Enrolled Nurse, to facilitate professional adjustment to the workforce and to develop a commitment to a career in nursing. This program consists of two streams/pathways either the Perianaesthetics stream or the Instrument & Circulating stream. The choice of stream is open to negotiation and subject to the candidate’s aptitude and future learning goals.Instrument & Circulating Stream12 month rotation throughout specialty areas of Scrub & Scout within the disciplines of:Dental, ENT, General, Gynaecology, Obstetrics, Urology, Endoscopy, Bariatrics, Vascular, Sports Injury & Orthopaedics.You will be provided with:A dedicated Perioperative Learning and Development team who will support you through the 12 month program.2 graduate specific study days.Access to perioperative specific protected education.Regular graduate nurse dedicated education sessions.Supernumerary shifts on each rotation.Access to scholarships for post graduate study.What You BringMANDATORY:Registered as an Enrolled Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).A willingness and interest to learn the skills associated with perioperative nursing including critical care skills.Australian or NZ Citizenship or the capacity to work permanently in Australia.DESIRABLE:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including demonstrated experience in liaising with a wide range of internal and external clients.Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as a member of a multidisciplinary team.Demonstrated ability to utilise the Nursing Process in the provision of safe, evidence based nursing care to patients in an acute care environment.A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation.Participation in ongoing professional development of self and others.Contact Information :Contact Person Katie GregoryContact Position Title Clinical Educator (Perioperative)Contact Email Katie.Gregory@calvarycare.org.auPlease note we are unable to accept emailed applications or resumes and phone calls from recruitment agencies.
