Overview
A prominent Federal Government agency within the national security portfolio is seeking an experienced Cloud Service Manager to join their enterprise ICT and capability delivery division. This role leads and aligns cloud initiatives with organisational strategic objectives, overseeing cloud adoption, optimisation, and governance within one of Australia's most secure environments. Initial 12-month contract with two 12-month extensions, onsite in Canberra (ACT).
Responsibilities
* Leading the management and alignment of ASD's cloud services, ensuring they support Defence and ISR strategic objectives.
* Overseeing cloud infrastructure implementation, governance, and lifecycle management across AWS, Azure and hybrid environments.
* Engaging with senior stakeholders and Defence programs to provide strategic advice on cloud capability roadmaps, cost models and business outcomes.
* Monitoring emerging industry technologies to guide future ASD cloud strategy and adoption.
* Managing risk, compliance, and performance to ensure secure and efficient service delivery within ASD's classified environment.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in strategic cloud service management across complex, enterprise-scale environments.
* Strong knowledge of AWS, Azure, and modern cloud business models, including consumption frameworks and cost management.
* Experience in developing enterprise and business architecture strategies, aligning technology outcomes with organisational goals.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to influence senior decision-makers across technical and executive domains.
Contract and Location
Long-term contract: 1 x 12 month + 2 x 12 month extensions. Onsite in Canberra (ACT).
