Role Overview
The Intermediate Accountant will play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting and tax services to our clients. This position involves preparing financial statements and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Australian accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
Responsibilities & Expectations
* Processing annual financial statements for companies and trusts.
* Preparing income tax returns and Business Activity Statements.
* Assisting with payroll services.
* Contributing to Tax Planning Figures and Analysis.
* Handling ATO client correspondence and queries.
* Staying updated on tax law changes and anticipating new ones through tax research.
* Collaborating with team members to ensure accurate and timely completion of financial reports.
* Continuously improving accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
* Participating in professional development activities to stay current with industry trends and best practices.
What Were Looking For
* 2-4 years of experience in Australian public accounting, with a focus on tax preparation and financial statement preparation.
* Proficiency in accounting software Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks.
* Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* High attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Desire to grow an existing client base.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
