TreeClimb is an outdoor eco‑adventure experience blending high ropes, zip lines, physical challenge, and environmental education. Our Adelaide parks have welcomed hundreds of thousands of climbers—from families and school groups to thrill‑seekers and corporate teams—and now we’re growing! Hobart will be our next major site, and we’re building a leadership team to help it thrive.
About the Role
As the State Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all daily operations of TreeClimb Hobart. You’ll lead and inspire a passionate team, maintain safety and operational excellence, deliver outstanding customer service, and ensure the venue runs smoothly during both peak periods and quieter seasonal shifts.
This role is ideal for someone who loves the outdoors, thrives in a fast‑paced environment, and has experience leading people in, tourism, recreation, or adventure‑based venues.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
* Recruit, train, and lead a team of Supervisors, Crew, and maintenance staff
* Foster a positive, inclusive, energetic workplace culture
* Manage staff rosters, training, performance, and ongoing development
Operations & Safety
* Oversee daily venue operations, ensuring they run efficiently and safely
* Maintain compliance with TreeClimb's safety standards, SOPs, and national safety frameworks
* Conduct regular course, equipment, and site inspections
* Manage contractors and maintenance schedules
* Perform course maintenance and upkeep
Commercial Performance
* Work toward revenue, visitation, and profitability targets
* Manage venue labor targets
* Assist in local marketing initiatives and partner engagement
* Manage stock, ordering, and cost control
Customer Experience
* Deliver exceptional customer service every day
* Resolve onsite customer queries or issues with confidence and care
* Ensure the venue environment is clean, welcoming, and memorable
Venue Launch Preparation
* Assist with pre‑opening setup, onboarding, training, and systems implementation
* Help execute launch event and community engagement activities
About You
We’re looking for someone who brings:
* Proven experience in venue, operations, or hospitality management
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and empower teams
* A passion for outdoor adventure, recreation, or eco‑tourism
* Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities
* Strong customer service focus and calmness under pressure
* Willingness to work weekends, school holidays, and peak seasons
* A commitment to safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement
Bonus points for:
* Experience in climbing, ropes courses, adventure parks, or outdoor education
* First Aid / CPR / Working with Children Check (must obtain prior to starting)
