About This Role:
The role of Technical Support Specialist involves ensuring that voice, data communications equipment and electronic devices associated with emergency services are properly installed, maintained, serviced and managed.
This position plays a vital part in enhancing the well-being of our community by providing timely and thorough technical support to ensure seamless communication services across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain and repair various types of communication equipment including fleet radios, GPS systems, mobile telephones and hospital radio consoles according to manufacturers' specifications.
* Assess and rectify faults in communication equipment promptly.
* Conduct vehicle installations and inspections as per SAAS requirements, completing relevant documentation.
* Install and maintain equipment in facilities to professional standards.
* Design, develop and document minor projects.
* Manage equipment inventory and stock, ensuring spare parts are maintained and de-installed equipment is checked and returned for reuse.
* Maintain accurate records of equipment databases, network transactions and equipment sent off-site for repair.
* Generate ad-hoc reports as required.
