The Opportunity
A confidential government client is seeking an experienced Finance Systems Project Manager to support finance teams across a group of small agencies as they prepare for a whole-of-government Oracle Financial System implementation.
The core system build is centrally led. Your role is where delivery gets real — working directly with Finance Managers to plan, coordinate and implement the finance-specific tasks and business process changes required to ensure readiness for testing, training, go-live and post-implementation support.
This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role for someone who understands how finance teams operate and can run project discipline with confidence and autonomy.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and coordinate finance implementation activities across multiple agencies
* Prepare and maintain project documentation including Gantt charts, risk and issue registers, action and decision logs
* Support finance transition activities including banking, taxation, credit cards, accounts payable and related finance processes
* Work closely with Finance Managers to identify readiness gaps and sequencing of activities
* Support stakeholder engagement, information gathering and coordination
* Contribute to business readiness and change coordination activities (centrally led, locally executed)
What You'll Bring
Essential
* Demonstrated experience delivering finance systems or ERP implementations
* Strong project management capability, including planning, RAID management and reporting
* Proven ability to work directly with finance teams and provide practical, independent advice
* Ability to operate autonomously in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment
Desirable
* Experience in government or multi-entity operating environments
* Exposure to Oracle Financials or similar ERP platforms
* Change exposure (business readiness, training coordination, communications support)
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related discipline desirable
