About the Role
Aerodrome Management Services (AMS) is looking for a motivated and detail-driven Civil Designer to join our growing Engineering team. Whether you’re early in your design career or looking to specialise in aviation infrastructure, this is an exciting opportunity to work on unique projects across regional and remote Australia.
As a Civil Designer at AMS, you’ll support the delivery of airside and landside infrastructure designs for a range of airport projects. You’ll work closely with experienced engineers and designers to produce construction drawings, plans, and modelling using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and help bring Aerodrome infrastructure projects to life.
This is a hands-on, collaborative role, suited to someone with a foundation in Civil Design who’s keen to build experience and develop in a specialist industry.
What You’ll Be Doing
•Drafting of civil construction, line marking and lighting plans
•Supporting with earthworks modelling and volume calculations
•Preparing obstacle limitation surface and aircraft parking layout drawings
•Assisting with geospatial data and file management
•Using tools such as AutoCAD, 12D model, and AviPLAN Turn (training provided)
•Following internal QA, document control, and CAD standards
What You’ll Bring
AMS will provide ongoing training and professional development to support this next step in your career, but you’ll already be off to a great start if you have previous experience in the following areas:
* 1–3 years’ experience in civil drafting or design
* Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D
* Prior and demonstrated 12D experience
* A Certificate or Diploma in Drafting or Engineering
* Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
* Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
* Previous demonstrated experience of delivering on project timelines and milestones
* Aviation experience is a bonus—but not essential
* Additional skills or qualifications in surveying may be advantageous for this role
