About the Role

This role will see you working closely with a Commercial Manager to oversee the management of Main Works Contracts across various projects or programs.

* Main Responsibilities:
* Manage contracts for multiple projects or programs.
* Analyze and review bills of quantities and implement methods of measurement for post-award administration, including change management.
* Coordinate assessments of contractors' financial stability and performance relative to works packages.
* Develop pricing schedules and bills of quantities for pricing analysis, including developing alternative cost and commercial strategies to increase certainty on forecast costs.
* Analyze variation prices for consideration of costs to budget and carry out risk assessments and estimates for forecast outturn costs and expenditure on packages after award.
* Analyze contract general terms and conditions to highlight areas of risk such as ambiguities, conflicts or deviations from the scope of work. Make recommendations to Package Managers on mitigation of these risks and monitor remedial actions.
* Review and monitor potential cost movements through determination of quantum and entitlement to changes/variants and claims in relation to minor works contracts.
* Review and certification of contractors' monthly progress payments to validate that costs incurred in works packages are correctly accounted and captured in accordance with Contract Documents and Security of Payments Act.
* Monitor monthly cost forecasts, reporting, and productivity of Minor Works Contracts to ensure potential changes to forecasts and assigned Package Budgets are tracked.


Qualifications and Experience

A relevant degree and registration are desirable. You should have experience and courses in estimating, forecasting, pricing, contract law, contract drafting, administration, and negotiation of change orders, effective correspondence, planning, and scheduling.

You should have a thorough knowledge of contract administration procedures and documents relating to multi-discipline construction projects. A working knowledge of engineering/construction industry contracting practices, applicable government and commercial regulations, and Bechtel policies, procedures, and work practices is also required.

At least 10 years of broad progressive work experience in contract administration associated with major infrastructure design and construction projects or aviation projects is necessary.
