We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager with a transport focus to help drive new business opportunities, develop strong client relationships and ensure our sales and marketing strategies deliver results.
Reporting to the General Manager Sales, our successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter with proven sales success in transport, logistics or related industries.
Responsibilities:
- Meeting with customers to ensure we are supplying the best service in the industry
- Creating and implementing sales strategies and identifying new markets for opportunities
- Proactively identifying, pursuing and acquiring recent business and increasing sales
- Meeting and aiming to exceed business KPI's and sales targets
- Establishing sales objectives through forecasting and maintaining quarterly and annual sales quotas for the region
- Attending client events, meetings, appointments, and conferences
- Overseeing the company's marketing strategy
- Providing feedback to management on customer proposals, sales data, forecasts and profitability
Requirements:
- 5+ years professional experience in business sales, marketing, or related field
- Previous experience within the transport industry in sales is essential
- Demonstrated track record of success in the sales cycle from plan to close
- Be willing to travel regularly and work irregular hours
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to network and build solid working relationships
- Ability to prioritise and effectively manage time
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team
- Solid negotiation and influencing capabilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Proficient in CRM tools
- Previous exposure to the hire industry or transport and logistics is advantageous
- Manual C Class driver's licence
- National Police Clearance (valid within 6 months)
- Must have Australian citizenship or permanent residency
