About the Role
To support the operational activities at the Aramex Townsville depot by performing key tasks such as forklift operations (loading, unloading, and cage movement), monitoring linehaul for safety, coordinating parcel sorting and scanning, and maintaining a clean and organized depot. This is a casual role, works collaboratively with depot staff and Operational Management to ensure smooth and safe daily operations. 30 Hours per week.
Key responsibilities include:
* Champion a strong safety culture by demonstrating a commitment to Workplace Health and Safety.
* Execute and enhance day-to-day operational activities to meet performance targets, KPIs, and reporting requirements.
* Ensure full compliance with parcel scanning procedures.
* Safely load and unload cages to and from trucks.
* Support timely and accurate sort preparation and rotation.
* Manage freight-related issues including calling Card Freight and Problematic and Damaged Freight
* Deliver professional customer service and effectively use Aramex systems.
* Promptly report hazards, near misses, and incidents.
* Complete operational and KPI reporting as required.
* Participate in regular compliance checks, audits, and adherence to Operational Manuals and OPEX checklist.
* Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
* Collaborate with colleagues to achieve shared goals.
* Demonstrate initiative and work independently when required.
* Maintain a professional demeanor and high personal accountability.
* Positively influence and support others through coaching and mentoring.
* Build trust through integrity, honesty, and follow-through.
To be successful in this role:
* Valid forklift license.
* Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar operational or logistics environment.
* Sound knowledge of safety procedures and systems.
* Familiarity with Mackay metropolitan and regional areas.
* Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
* High attention to detail and accuracy in task execution.
