Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cook/Chef to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes, maintaining kitchen efficiency, and supporting menu development while ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
Key responsibilities:
* Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards.
* Menu Support: Assist in menu planning, including seasonal updates, portion control, and food costing.
* Quality Control: Ensure all food prepared meets the business's quality and presentation standards.
* Kitchen Operations: Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen in compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
* Stock Management: Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper stock rotation to minimise waste.
* Team Collaboration: Work effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service operations.
* Training & Support: Assist in training junior kitchen staff and maintaining a positive team environment.
Position Requirements:
* Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification
* Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience as a Cook or Chef
* Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen operations
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced café/restaurant environment
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and varied shifts
Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 per annum plus Superannuation.
