Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and motivated MEM Supervisor to lead our mobile maintenance team within a fast‐paced open pit mining operation working on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth. The MEM Supervisor role is a leadership and coordination position focused on supervising maintenance activities, managing risk, and ensuring maintenance teams deliver safe and efficient outcomes. With your previous skills & experiences, you will provide oversight, direction, planning, and supervision across mobile maintenance operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise maintenance personnel and contractors to ensure safe and efficient execution of all maintenance activities.
* Coordinate daily maintenance activities across the mobile mining fleet, including planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance.
* Drive fleet reliability and equipment availability to support operational production targets.
* Monitor equipment performance, downtime and maintenance backlog, implementing corrective actions where required.
* Coordinate labour, equipment availability and maintenance priorities across workshop and field maintenance activities.
* Work closely with operations, planning and supply teams to optimise maintenance schedules and minimise production impacts.
* Ensure all maintenance activities comply with site safety standards, statutory requirements and company procedures.
* Conduct daily pre‐start meetings and promote a strong safety‐first culture across the maintenance team.
* Drive accountability, team performance and a positive maintenance culture across the department.
* Support workforce development through mentoring, coaching and performance management.
* Oversee contractor management and maintenance service providers on site.
* Assist in planning and executing shutdowns, component change‐outs and major repairs.
* Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders and reporting within the site maintenance management system.
* Promote high standards of housekeeping and workplace presentation across workshop and field maintenance activities.
About You
* Demonstrated experience in a Supervisor or senior leadership role within an open pit mining environment.
* Relevant Heavy Diesel, Mobile Plant, Mechanical or Electrical Trade Qualification.
* Schedule 26 qualification (mandatory).
* Extensive experience maintaining and supporting heavy mobile mining equipment in a mining environment.
* Current Australian Driver's Licence.
* Strong leadership, communication and personnel management capability.
* Proven ability to effectively supervise and coordinate maintenance teams in a non‐tools‐based supervisory role.
* Sound understanding of maintenance planning, equipment reliability and defect elimination processes.
* Experience managing planned maintenance, shutdowns and breakdown response activities.
* Strong troubleshooting and problem‐solving capability across hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems.
* Experience using maintenance management systems such as Pronto, SAP or similar CMMS platforms.
* Ability to manage competing maintenance priorities within a fast‐paced operational environment.
* Strong commitment to safety leadership and continuous improvement.
