Salary: $170,000 – $190,000 + Super (dependent on experience)

Are you an experienced nursing leader ready to take on a strategic role in a growing organisation?
We are exclusively recruiting for a Director of Nursing to join a stand‑alone private day surgery in Brisbane. This is a rare opportunity to lead a high‑performing team and make the role your own.
About the Role
As Director of Nursing, you will have full oversight of financial and operational performance, including:
* Managing P&L and monthly reporting to the CEO and Board
* Being part of the planning and execution of the Strategic Plan
* Leading an administration team and an experienced Theatre Manager
* Overseeing a team of 50 staff across full‑time, part‑time, and casual positions
* Maintaining strong relationships with surgeons and VMOs
* Driving a positive, inclusive culture, including staff engagement and social events
This is a full‑time permanent role, with flexible hours depending on surgical lists. Open to an ASAP start or January 2026. Exciting plans for future expansion mean this is a role where you can truly make an impact.
What We’re Looking For
* Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
* Proven leadership experience in hospital or day surgery settings
* Strong business acumen and ability to manage budgets
* Experience in theatre and specialty training (highly regarded)
* Expertise in NSQHS standards and accreditation
* Ability to:
o Develop and mentor staff
o Navigate complex systems and manage risk
o Maintain compliance and governance
o Drive performance and lead strategic initiatives
o Be a culture champion and foster team engagement
