The Role
As the Senior Structural Engineer, you will be a key leader within the organisation, responsible for maintaining an engaged and high-performing team and managing client interaction. This role involves both technical leadership and team management, ensuring the successful delivery of projects while mentoring and overseeing junior engineers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing technical leadership and mentoring junior engineers.
- Managing team workloads and supporting professional development.
- Pricing work and reviewing projects to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Conducting structural analysis and design for residential, industrial and commercial projects.
- Performing site inspections and reporting findings.
- Collaborating with architects, builders, and project stakeholders.
- Overseeing drafting processes to ensure accurate documentation.
- Contributing to project planning and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage and mentor a team.
- A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in structural design within Australia.
- Extensive knowledge of Australian Standards and Building Codes.
- Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Inducta, SpaceGass, and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a high attention to detail.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to project work.
- RPQ (Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland) or Chartered Engineering status (CPEng) is highly desirable.
