About the Role
We're seeking a dedicated Chef to deliver high-quality, nutritious meals tailored to the unique dietary needs of our aged care residents. Working within the strengthen standards, amazing meals and in house cooking play a critical role in the quality of life of our residents. This role is ideal for someone empathetic, adaptable, and committed to excellence in food service.
What You'll Be Doing:
•Prepare and cook daily meals that meet individual dietary requirements, including texture-modified options.
•Plan and rotate menus in consultation with the Service Manager and residents.
•Maintain food safety and hygiene standards in line with regulatory requirements.
•Manage food purchasing, storage, and usage within budget guidelines.
•Foster a safe and respectful kitchen environment, adhering to Safe Work Practices.
Who We're Looking For:
•Qualified Chef with a minimum Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or equivalent.
•Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (NSW Food Authority).
•Strong understanding of HACCP & food safety legislation including NSW Food Act & Guidelines for Vulnerable Persons.
•Minimum 2 years' experience in commercial kitchens, experience in aged care or healthcare settings is highly regarded.
•Experience with dietary needs, nutrition requirements, and modified diets.
•Ability to lead, train, and develop staff across a diverse team.
•Familiarity with cook-fresh and cook-chill methodologies.
•Strong understanding of dietary controls and texture-modified food preparation.
•Excellent communication, time management, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills.
