Remarkable people, trusted by clients to design and advance the world. Wood is currently recruiting for a Machinery Engineering Advisor to be based in Longford on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Superintendent, the Machinery Engineering Advisor will provide senior machinery engineering leadership and technical support to the operations, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams of the Longford Gas Plants. Work independently and through teams to maintain and improve the safety and reliability of machinery as well as the skill of site personnel.

Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
* A minimum of 15 years experience in oil & gas industry (preferred) with at least 10 years in machinery engineering.
* Must be registered as a Mechanical Professional Engineer in the State of Victoria with the Building Licensing Authority while practicing in the role.
* Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills, excellent communication abilities, strong leadership skills.
* Detailed knowledge of machinery classes: positive displacement and centrifugal pumps, fans, axial and centrifugal compressors, high speed gearboxes, electrical motors and generators, gas and steam turbines, diesel engines.
* Detailed knowledge of machinery auxiliary, monitoring, protection, and control systems.
* In‐depth knowledge of machinery principles, failure mechanisms, maintenance practices and industry standards (AS, API, IOGP, AMCA, ISO, ASME).
