Responsibilities:
1. Conduct pre-commissioning inspections and tests on generator systems to verify compliance with design specifications.
2. Collaborate with engineering teams to develop commissioning plans and procedures for generator installations.
3. Perform functional testing and troubleshooting of electrical components, controls, and protection systems.
4. Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely completion of commissioning activities.
5. Generate commissioning reports and documentation detailing test results, deviations, and corrective actions.
6. Provide technical support to project managers and clients during the commissioning phase.
7. Participate in site meetings and inspections to address technical issues and ensure quality standards are met.
Requirements:
1. Diploma in Engineering Technology (Electrical) or related field experience.
2. Minimum 3 years of experience working with MTU 2000/4000 Series /CAT 3500 Series/Cummins QSK50/60, HSK78G Series generator sets and balance of the plant equipment.
3. Strong Mechanical aptitude and good understanding of engine controls.
4. Proven experience in commissioning generator systems, preferably in a power generation or industrial setting.
5. Strong knowledge of generator controls, protection relays, and synchronization systems (CAT EMCP, ComAp, DEIF, DSE, Woodward)
6. Proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical specifications.
7. Familiarity with testing equipment and procedures for generator commissioning, testing and fault finding.
8. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
9. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
10. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
11. Willingness to travel to client sites as required.
Desirable:
1. Experience with High Voltage power generation equipment and systems.
2. Forklift or other relevant machinery licenses.
3. Strong mechanical aptitude.
