About the Program
CatholicCare NT is a not-for-profit organisation, providing social services and programs to individuals, couples, families, children, groups, schools, and agencies across the Northern Territory.
The National Aged Care Advocacy Program (NACAP) in Alice Springs is free, independent, and confidential. The aim of the service is to facilitate advocacy support and information, outreach and education, community development and support to consumers or potential consumers of Australian Government subsidised Aged Care services, their representatives, and their families in Central Australia.
About the Team Leader Role
Please scroll down to view the complete Role Description (attached). The Team Leader is responsible for the implementation, leadership, and integration of the Aged Care Advocacy program. This position has a particular focus on leading and mentoring program staff, applying professional knowledge and support whilst providing direct services.
The position also ensures that the rights of the elderly are always upheld, that they are involved in decisions affecting their lives, and that they can self-advocate for their needs in a residential care or home care setting, in order for the program to meet the objectives. Program portfolios may be subject to change within the contract period.
What we are looking for
Please note: you must be an Australian Citizen or have unlimited work rights in Australia
* Relevant qualification and expertise to perform duties at this level
* Minimum five years' experience in relevant practice and team leadership
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills encompassing report writing, case note writing and supervision
* Ability to communicate effectively with Managers, Staff and stakeholders across diverse cultural groups and settings
* Experience in recording and interpreting quantitative and qualitative data in line with program requirements, and leading a team to do the same
* Experience in providing leadership, mentoring and supervision to multi-disciplinary staff
* Demonstrated cultural competency, particularly in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
