About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Digital Tools Governance & Support Technologies Manager, based in Osborne SA, your deep understanding of the utilisation of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) in the end‑to‑end delivery of CCSM sustainment activities will enable you to collaborate with the ASC business capabilities, the Digital Transformation Program (DTP) team and ASC Enterprise Architects to provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) oversight, governance and guidance to ensure the effective delivery of and transition to the new PLM platform. This full‑time, permanent role is undertaken in a dynamic and complex environment where customer service and stakeholder engagement are paramount and your ability to work independently and collaborate with other teams to deliver successful outcomes is essential.
Responsibilities
* Represent the ASC business capabilities as an ‘Intelligent Customer’ and work with the Transformation team to ensure the alignment and the effective delivery and implementation of the new PLM system that meets the agreed business outcomes
* Consult and provide governance of the PLM solution design, ensuring it is appropriate and fit for business requirements
* Engage across the business, helping guide the Transformation team while helping the business understand the current and future state direction of PLM transformation
* Support training and guidance to the business capabilities for the current PLM platform, and the future PLM platform and its integrations
* Represent the various business capabilities as subject matter expert to support the sourcing and implementation of digital tools including all necessary infrastructure and services, on request, through the ASC digital technology delivery capabilities
* Provide guidance, facilitation, and direction to business capabilities with process development and training to ensure optimal outcomes are realised during the development, implementation, and support phases of digital tools
* Provide liaison and facilitation services as required between business capabilities and internal service providers to ensure the alignment of activities and priorities that support strategic objectives and programs of work
* Undertake effective customer and stakeholder engagement for all tasks with the aim to enhance business outcomes and build relationships
* Demonstrate leadership and contribute to team building, mentoring, and informal training activities within the team
About you
* Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or an equivalent qualification
* 10 years’ experience in a maritime, naval, dockyard or equivalent experience (e.g. engineering, business, commerce, project management, RAN/CCSM operational engineering experience)
* Comprehensive understanding of the utilisation of PLM in the end‑to‑end delivery of CCSM sustainment activities
* Demonstrated ability to gather, understand, and convey customer requirements in context of complex interdependent systems of systems
* Demonstrated ability to understand and convey PLM solution ideas and concepts to non‑technical stakeholders
* Understanding of Defence systems engineering standards and regulations (preferably Defence Seaworthiness)
* Demonstrated experience with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), PDM (Product Data Management) methods and tools
* Familiarity with
o Configuration Management, Production, Planning, Logistics Engineering, Integrated Logistics Support, Technology Controls, and Supply Chain methods and tools
o 2D and 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) methods and tools
o Engineering, analysis / simulation methods and tools, such as FEA, CFD, MBSE, RAM, Acoustics/Signal analysis
* Familiarity with
o Enterprise technologies and processes including infrastructure hardware and applications is desirable
o ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) methods and tools is desirable
* Demonstrated leadership experience
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance up to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
