Inpatient Hospital Physiotherapist – Orthopaedic Caseload

Penrith Physiotherapy Sports Centre is seeking a motivated and confident physiotherapist to join our inpatient hospital team at Nepean Private Hospital.
This is a long-term opportunity with a consistent Sunday shift, a large and varied Orthopaedic caseload, and strong clinical support. The role is ideal for a physiotherapist wanting to build or consolidate inpatient Orthopaedic experience while maintaining weekday flexibility.
It is also well suited to someone returning to work after a career break (for example, maternity leave), with access to mentoring, senior support, and a well-established hospital team.
The Opportunity
You will be working on an Orthopaedic ward at Nepean Private Hospital, managing patients in the acute post-operative phase.
Schedule
• 1 x 8-hour Sunday shift per week
• Part-time or casual
• Standard weekend loading applies
Clinical Exposure
• Large and varied Orthopaedic caseload including:
– Total hip and knee replacements
– Spinal surgery
– Shoulder reconstructions
– ACL and sports procedures
– Fracture management
Your Role on the Ward
• Acute post-operative patient care and early mobilisation
• Discharge planning and patient education
• Direct communication with Orthopaedic surgeons
• Close collaboration with nursing staff and the multidisciplinary team
You will have autonomy on Sundays, while being supported by an experienced senior hospital physiotherapist and a broader clinical team.

About You
You will have:
• Minimum 6 months experience working in a hospital setting
• Confidence managing post-operative Orthopaedic patients
• Strong communication skills with patients, surgeons, and nursing staff
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team
• Good organisation and time management skills
Essential Requirements
• Current AHPRA registration
• Professional indemnity insurance
• Minimum 6 months hospital physiotherapy experience
• NSW Working With Children Check
