We are looking for a passionate Chef to be strong driver of our restaurant. We are a vibrant and unique, that is very different to the traditional South East Asian Cuisine, we have a strong focus on quality, handmade food, sourced from local suppliers prepared fresh in store daily. Tasks & responsibilities
• planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
• Creating menu items, recipes and developing dishes ensuring variety and quality
• monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
• discussing food preparation issues with Venue Manager and kitchen and waiting staff
• demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
• preparing and cooking food
• freeze and preserve foods
• explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
• select and train staff
• oversee and monitor the work of kitchen staff to ensure all tasks are done as required
• give staff feedback on their performance to enable staff development
• ensure any staffing issues are resolved fairly and quickly
About You
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have proven culinary and management experience. Excellent communication skills, demonstrating leadership and organisational abilities.
• Proven leadership experience within a fast-paced kitchen environment
• High standard of food preparation and productivity
• Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure
• Experience in budget management and cost control
• Exceptional presentation, communication, time management & attention to detail
• Ability to work a flexible rotating roster including nights/weekends
Requirements:
• Certificate 3/4 in Commercial cookery
• Diploma of Hospitality Managerment
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Chef
