We are seeking a dedicated Quality Measurement Technicians to join our team at Port Cape Lambert on a residential basis residing in Wickham on a day & night shift roster.
This role is crucial in ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance in our sample plant and laboratory operations.
You will be responsible for adhering to all company standards, policies, and procedures, and play a key role in maintaining ISO standards within the laboratory.
About Us
Our port facilities consist of four shipping terminals located on the Pilbara coast at Dampier and Cape Lambert which form an essential part of our logistics process.
Each terminal has facilities for train unloading, iron ore stockpiling, product blending and ship loading.
Key Responsibilities Assure collection and preparation of samples in accordance with QMS procedures, ensuring samples are totally representative
Accountable for physical and chemical analysis shipping data and authorization for invoicing
Assist supervisors and operators in determining the accuracy of analysis and comparison to product quality targets, and lead investigations into any quality concerns.
Ensure routine QA/QC materials are processed, with results recorded and appropriate actions taken
Ensure laboratory compliance with ISO standards and report on quality metrics to stakeholders
Responsible for continuous quality improvement to sample plant and laboratory assets and processes by identifying, evaluating, and implementing initiatives
Monitor the quality of sampling, preparation, analysis equipment, and utilities using company systems and LIMS
Accountable for ensuring all quality work practices and checks are performed on sample plants and laboratory equipment within desired timeframe and all non-conformances are investigated and remedied
Accountable for recertification and calibration of laboratory validation instrumentation and equipment.
Execute routine sample plant quality checks in accordance with the relevant standard, and quality checks on the necessary equipment, and raise notifications when required.
Assist on-the-job trainers (OJTs) with SME training requirements.
Perform troubleshooting and arrange breakdown recovery work of sample preparation and laboratory equipment/systems.
What You'll Bring Sound written and verbal communications skills
Self-motivation and able to work safely and independently
A minimum of 5 years' experience in laboratory environment, or equivalent
Significant technical experience in flux fusion, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), x-ray fluorescence (XRF), manual sample preparation using rotary sample divider (RSD), crusher/splitters, moisture and sizings analysis
Technical experience in operating automated sampling facilities or assets
Experience with computers systems such as HMI, SAP, and LIMS
Experience working on shifts including night shifts or work in a plant/manufacturing
environment
Desirable - Cert IV in Laboratory Techniques, Qualification in Chemistry (or similar)
