About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team in Newcastle.
This individual will be part of a collaborative group that values teamwork, curiosity, and continuous learning.
The successful candidate will work across various sections to support our laboratory's analytical processes - from sample receipt and preparation to maintaining high quality standards in analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
* Accurately receive, check, label, and register samples in the laboratory system.
* Carry out sample preparation, including filtration and sub-sampling of water and soil samples.
* Support wet chemistry and instrumental analysis under the guidance of senior staff.
* Maintain laboratory records, equipment, and work areas in accordance with QA/QC requirements.
* Participate in laboratory housekeeping, waste management, and stock control.
* Assist with sample receipt duties, including checking Chain of Custody documentation, and coordinating incoming and outgoing sample logistics.
* Opportunity to learn and gain experience in field sampling.
* Occasionally assist with sample deliveries or collections - a current driver's license is essential.
