Protea OT is offering a structured new graduate program to set you up for success in your career as a paediatric OT. The program offers opportunities to shadow senior OTs, progressive build-up of client load, frequent 1:1 supervision and mentoring, weekly team meetings/presentations, support with CPD, multi-disciplinary collaboration and much more

Job Overview:

Protea Occupational Therapy is a vibrant and growing clinic based in Drummoyne. Protea OT's mission is to empower children to achieve their goals, optimise quality of life, and realise their full potential by delivering exceptional professional care that is evidence-based, integrative and person-focused. Protea OT uses a collaborative and family-centred approach to provide innovative therapy services to its clients. Protea OT provides therapy to children with a range of disabilities and developmental delays.

Due to strong client growth, our team is expanding. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join our team.

The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions that are tailored to the unique needs of each paediatric client. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in promoting optimal development, independence, and participation in daily activities for children at various developmental stages.

About the Clinic:

Located in Drummoyne, the modern, spacious, and air-conditioned clinic has a range of therapy resources and equipment for your use. We are co-located with a team of Speech Pathologists (Nash Speech Pathology), which provides a range of benefits including multidisciplinary collaboration and enhanced CPD opportunities.

Role Description:

* Opportunity for a full-time or part-time role.
* Primarily based in the Drummoyne clinic, with school and childcare visits.
* Collaborate with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals to set and work towards client-centered goals.
* Perform thorough clinical assessments to evaluate the sensory, motor, social/emotional and cognitive abilities of paediatric clients.
* Design and implement evidence-based treatment plans that address identified developmental challenges, and promote functional independence/ participation.
* Foster a collaborative and empowering relationship with families to ensure continuity of care beyond therapy sessions.

About you:

* About to graduate or recently graduated with a recognised Occupational Therapy degree.
* When commencing employment, have a registration with AHPRA, Professional Indemnity Insurance and Working with Children Check (WWCC).
* Current driver's licence, own transport, and willingness to travel using your personal car as required.
* A current Working with Children Check (WWCC).
* Excellent communication, written skills and interpersonal skills.
* A passion and understanding of delivering person-centred, evidence-based OT intervention.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team as well as working autonomously.
* Empathy and patience in working with paediatric clients and their families.
