Divers Tavern is an iconic, progressive tavern located at the beautiful Cable Beach in Broome, WA. It offers a family-friendly bistro, sports bar and live entertainment venue. We are seeking a talented, driven and experienced Head Chef to coordinate meals in our busy venue.
Location: Broome, Western Australia.
Type: Full-time. Flexible roster. Days can be negotiated.
Salary: $85,000 - $95,000/year commensurate with skills and experience.
Duties:
* Manage kitchen staff, including rostering.
* Oversee quality control.
* Manage food & wage budgets/costings.
* Manage product inventory, storage and deliveries.
* Mentor & develop junior staff.
* Develop modern and flavoursome dishes to suit various clientele.
* Follow all food safety and hygiene compliance procedures.
* Deliver consistently high standards of food delivery.
* Other general kitchen duties as required.
Essential:
* A relevant industry qualification and/or at least 3 years of experience.
* The ability to work days, nights, weekends & public holidays.
* Proven experience in high volume environments.
* Knowledge of food safety, allergens, and hygiene standards.
* Passionate about cooking and delivering quality fresh food.
* Good working knowledge of current food trends.
* Good communication skills.
* A mature, responsible and proactive attitude.
* Current Food Safety Handling Certificate.
Desirable:
* Proven experience as a Head Chef in a hotel/pub.
* Culinary innovation.
* Proficiency in a number of different cooking techniques.
* A stable work history.
