Position: Climate Security Lead Level: Executive Level 1Salary: $115,443 to $125,832 plus 15.4% superannuation.Location: Canberra, ACT.The Climate Security Lead reports to the National Security and Space Partnerships Lead (EL2) and collaborates with Australia's national security sector to build relationships that enable the Bureau to deliver value and impact.Your focus will be on the national security sector and climate security needs. You will develop a deep understanding of client needs, lead climate security capability development, and work with teams and external stakeholders to produce analysis and products.Essential skills include teamwork, experience in security or related sectors, leadership, business development, independence, and excellent communication skills.This role is based in Canberra, with remote connections and some travel required. Understanding Climate Security Climate security involves the impacts of climate on peace and security, including extreme weather, vulnerabilities, and regional instability, which affect Australia and the global community. Key duties include: Writing risk analyses and delivering climate security products.Building relationships with security agencies and stakeholders.Developing new opportunities and proposals.Promoting the Bureau's capabilities and products.Representing the Bureau externally and internally.
