What You'll Be Doing

The Nurse Counsellor is primarily responsible for the provision of a client focused approach, with the aim of building a relationship with the client throughout their BreastScreen journey. This approach should be seamless as experienced by the client.

The Nurse Counsellor will oversee and coordinate the client journey from the time of identification that the client is to be recalled, through to assessment result notification and follow-up processes. The Nurse Counsellor will facilitate a smooth transition into the assessment clinic from booking of the client, attendance at the clinic and referral to treatment services as required.

The Nurse Counsellor possesses and delivers clinical nursing knowledge, experience and skills in providing high quality and appropriate nursing care to BreastScreen clients consistent with SESLHD and ISLHD policies, procedures and standards.
