As a Credit Analyst you will be an important part of the customer journey and will work closely with a range of customers and brokers to assess credit applications using both bank statements and financial statements as well as other resources and tools to determine credit worthiness of applications.
Your enthusiasm and drive will lead to continued success in being able to identify customer needs and source and recommend a variety of products that service those requirements. You will be partnered with relationship specialists to provide a unique customer experience to business customers both at acquisition and throughout the life of the customer.
Responsibilities
Work in partnership with Relationship Managers, Sales team and Customer Solutions specialists to identify and structure credit solutions for business customers both at acquisition and through out the life of the borrower.
Conduct phone interviews with applicants and brokers to discuss loan applications including negotiation of key criteria to ensure Shift's position is not compromised.
Build meaningful relationships with peers, internal stakeholders and other teams to support business performance and maximise Shift's value proposition.
Clearly communicate questions required to make decisions and ensure final decisions are made in a professional manner.
Support Relationship Managers, Sales team, Customer Solutions specialists and brokers to workshop transactions and conduct account reviews to achieve the best solutions within guidance and appetite.
Financial Analysis
Provide efficient and effective financial analysis and credit risk assessment through reviewing customer bank statements and financials to recommend or approve limits aligned to Shift's credit approach and lending appetite within Delegated Lending Authority.
Accurate recording of key risk factors within credit assessment to clearly identify risks and provide mitigation to support decision making.
Detailed assessment of applicant's profile, industry risks and financial position from information available.
Ensure correct products and services are applied to customer applications.
Prepare sound credit assessments for recommendation to higher delegation holders for decision.
Compliance and Engagement
Adherence to Shift's Credit Underwriting standards and guidelines and compliance with policy and standards regarding reporting and documentation.
Ensure data integrity in all core systems; ensure all compliance training is up to date.
Experience & Qualifications
Experience assessing commercial credit based on financial statements, bank statements and non-traditional data.
Experience working with data in risk or analytics role is advantageous but not essential.
Experience with finance products embedded in Point-of-sale environments is advantageous but not essential.
Attention to detail with investigative skills and the ability to make decisions logically and considerately.
Ability to communicate respectfully and succinctly with external and internal stakeholders.
Tertiary qualifications preferred; previously held DLA for commercial / business lending.
Business acumen and sound knowledge of SME market.
