About the role
The Patient Transport Officer plays an essential role in supporting patient access to care across Western NSW by providing safe and reliable non‐emergency transport for clinically stable patients.
The position involves transferring patients to hospitals, aged care facilities, medical appointments and home addresses while ensuring their comfort and safety throughout each journey.
This position is a Casual appointment to cover both Dubbo and Orange locations while working within a rotating roster, the role contributes to efficient patient flow and timely access to clinical services.
The position requires ongoing communication with the vCare team and other clinicians to provide updates on transport progress and any changes in a patient's condition, with escalation of concerns in line with established protocols. Accurate and timely documentation is expected, along with responsibility for keeping vehicles clean, stocked, roadworthy and ready for immediate use.
The position requires a current unrestricted NSW Class C driver's licence with a safe driving record, as well as current Advanced First Aid and Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy certifications. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the community by supporting patients with professionalism, care and reliability.
