We’re on the hunt for an experienced Group Buyer to join a leading dealership group in the Illawarra region.
If you know used car buying inside-out and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, this leadership role could be your next move.
You'll be responsible for sourcing 300+ quality used vehicles each month across multiple channels—private sellers, auctions, wholesalers, fleets, and more.
You'll also lead and mentor a team of buyers, ensuring top performance, profitability, and strategic growth across the group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute smart vehicle acquisition strategies
- Maintain strict quality and profitability standards
- Analyse market data, trends, and pricing to inform buying decisions
- Build relationships with key suppliers and partners
- Recruit, train, and lead a high-performing team
- Collaborate with GMs, Used Car Managers, and reconditioning teams
What You'll Need:
- Strong background in automotive buying or wholesale
- Leadership experience in a results-driven environment
- Deep knowledge of vehicle valuation and retail trends
- Great negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to handle high volumes and tight deadlines
- Familiarity with dealership systems and sourcing tools
- Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel
