We are seeking a strategic leader to join our organization as a Corporate Finance Leader. This role will play a vital part in delivering and leading financial services across various areas, including corporate taxation advisory and compliance, financial reporting and reconciliations, capital and asset accounting, and treasury management functions.

The successful candidate will manage a high-performing team, driving service excellence and ensuring compliance with statutory obligations and organizational policies. They will also be responsible for creating a safe, equitable, and rewarding workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and relevant legislation.

* Lead the Corporate Finance Unit, including staff development, performance management, and fostering a positive team culture.
">
* Oversee capitalisation, asset accounting, and the development and review of the Long Term Asset Management Plan.
">
* Provide expert taxation advice and ensure accurate compliance and lodgement of tax returns.
">
* Support treasury management, balancing debt and investment portfolios, and forecasting cash flows.
">
* Build effective internal partnerships and deliver tailored financial insights that support decision-making.
">

Selection Criteria:

* Strong knowledge of accounting principles, corporate taxation, treasury, and asset management.

* Proven leadership in team development, service delivery, and performance improvement.

* Demonstrated experience in statutory reporting and asset accounting within a complex organization.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all organizational levels.

* Proficiency in financial systems and tools relevant to medium-to-large or government organizations.

Mandatory Requirements:

* Tertiary qualifications in Business or Accounting.
">
* Membership with CPA Australia or an equivalent professional body.

* Knowledge and experience in applying Australian Accounting Standards.

Desirable:

* Experience with Finance One financial systems.

* Knowledge of the Local Government Act 2009 and related regulations.

* Familiarity with the Local Government Tax Equivalent Regime.
