Alcohol and Other Drugs Assessment Clinician Role

This is a part-time position in the AOD Wellbeing Services team, supporting consumers with treatment, support, and education related to alcohol and other drug use.

The successful candidate will provide AOD specific screening, assessment, initial treatment planning, and referral for clients accessing BCHS AOD services and external AOD services.


Key Responsibilities:

* AOD Screening and Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments to identify consumer needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
* Treatment Planning and Referral: Develop and implement treatment plans, coordinating services and interventions to address consumer needs.
* Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, social workers, and other stakeholders, to ensure seamless service delivery and effective communication with consumers.


Requirements:

1. Tertiary Qualification: Possess a tertiary qualification in Social Work, Community Services, or a related field.
2. AOD Experience: Have experience working within the AOD sector or completion of the AOD skillset (or willingness to undertake it within 12 months).
3. Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders and consumers.
4. Harm Reduction Principles: Comprehensive understanding of harm reduction principles and practice.
5. Treatment Practices: Demonstrated knowledge of AOD individual and group treatment practices, especially in relation to working with families.
6. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and across a range of platforms.
