Join the St Mary's team as Centre Cook! Our St Mary's LDC & Kindergarten team is looking for an experienced centre cook. Provide healthy and nutritious meals to help children thrive and explore with energy!
Located in Upper Coomera, the service cares for up to 75 children. This is an exciting opportunity to share your love of food and contribute to children's well-being!
Hours: 25 hours per week - Monday to Friday
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and prepare healthy, balanced, and age-appropriate meals and snacks for children from babies to kindergarten age.
2. Adhere to dietary requirements, allergies, and cultural preferences of children.
3. Ensure all meals meet the nutritional guidelines set by the centre.
4. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
5. Manage kitchen supplies and inventory, placing orders as needed.
6. Collaborate with staff to create meal plans and menus.
7. Engage with children in a friendly and positive manner, promoting healthy eating habits.
8. Participate in centre events and activities as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Previous experience as a cook, preferably in a childcare or similar setting such as Aged Care.
* Qualifications in Hospitality or Commercial Cookery are highly regarded but not essential.
* Knowledge of child nutrition and dietary requirements.
* Certification in Food Handling and Safety.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* A positive and energetic attitude.
