Overview
The Department of Health is seeking Registered Nurses for its permanent pool to fill staffing gaps across hospital wards. Pool nurses work in all wards with adaptability and resourcefulness to support safe, quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Provide protected, quality, clinically appropriate nursing care in partnership with patients/clients, their families and other health professionals.
- Ability to work anywhere in the hospital, with emphasis on medical and surgical wards.
Qualifications
- A minimum of twelve months clinical experience as a registered nurse.
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
Details of appointment
Permanent, full-time or part-time positions available, shift worker arrangements, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from 6 October 2025. Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Salary and benefits
- Salary: $78,179 to $105,995 per annum (pro rata). Employer superannuation contribution of 12% on top of this amount.
- Salary range in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
- Access to the Grade 4 salary range ($99,455–$105,995) subject to progression to Grade 4.
- Postgraduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.
- Salary packaging and other benefits if eligible.
