**Our Client**:
Collaborative Construction a commercial builder with a rare opportunity to join their leadership team as a Contracts and Commercial Manager.
The Collaborative team have worked with some of Australia's premier retailers, infrastructure groups and developers including Stockland, Coles, Ausgrid, Westfield, and the University of Newcastle. They have successfully delivered hundreds of projects, and built a reputation to match their success.
**The Role**:
As Contracts and Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the commercial and contractual aspects of their projects, as well as providing financial advice and guidance.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Review all Head Contracts for major projects at the time of tender and advise on risks and concerns.
- Assess and manage risks associated with new clients and major sub-contractors and suppliers.
- Ensure Project Managers and Contract Administrators are meeting their contractual obligations and protecting the company commercially.
- Minimize company risk and improve business performance for Collaborative.
- Assist in resolving disputes with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Prepare and report on overall company cash flow up to 12 months in advance.
- Look for external factors and issues that may impact the company's financial performance and make recommendations on how to mitigate risk.
- Provide monthly financial management reports and cash flow summaries.
- Seek legal input and advice on any legal issues such as contract disputes and company risk and exposure.
- Take ownership of the formal company strategic plan and make staff accountable for following through.
- Provide mentoring for staff and direction as needed.
**Qualifications and Experience Required**:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of financial management, accounting, and budgeting.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
