About The Opportunity
The Visiting Medical Officer Head of Department in Intensive Care Medicine will provide high-level clinical leadership and specialist care within the Intensive Care Unit at Bathurst Health Service, supporting critically ill patients across the hospital.
This role will involve delivering expert medical assessment, management, and oversight of ICU patients while contributing to service development, clinical governance, and the education and supervision of junior medical staff.
Your primary location will be Bathurst Health Service. Opportunities to support clinical services at other WNSWLHD facilities may be arranged in consultation with the Director of Medical Services.

Essential Requirements
Valid NSW Working with Children Clearance Cleared National Criminal Record Check Aged Care Check (for Commonwealth-funded positions). Compliance with NSW Health’s Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Policy. Commitment to safe work practices and adhering to WHS responsibilities.

Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist, and/or overseas trained specialist via the appropriate International Medical Graduate pathway. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team. Proven ability to communicate effectively through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement. Be available to participate in an on-call roster as required and to respond on site within a reasonable time. Fellowship of the applicable College.
