Your recent role
The Customer Service Representative is responsible for managing the logistics of freight movements from the moment an order is raised by an importer or shipper to the delivery point.
Your job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Coordinate with importers or shippers from the point an order is raised to determine the best freight solution that meets and exceeds customer needs.
- Ensure that all movements align with agreed-upon rates, utilising vendors quoted and secured by the business.
- Ensure allocations are met and tracked weekly, providing origin partners with instructions on which contracts to place bookings against.
- Communicate and liaise with origin offices and/or partners to ensure key milestones are met and schedules are adhered to.
- Track and ensure that all key information is accurately entered into CargoWise, including overseeing Malaysian offshore data entry to maintain live and accurate customer visibility.
- Serve as a point of contact for customers, providing updates and troubleshooting issues related to delays or disruptions.
- Maintain consistent communication to ensure documentation aligns with regulatory and operational requirements for prompt cargo processing.
- Verify that vendor rates match the agreed rates.
Attempt to resolve discrepancies directly with vendors, while still flagging issues to the Customer Service Manager and commercial team for awareness.
- Ensure vendors provide the nominated and agreed space, allocation, and rates.
Track vendor performance through weekly reporting.
What you will need to succeed
- Experience in Customer Service within a similar organization
- Proven commitment to delivering exceptional service and supporting client success
- Customer Service Representative experience
- High accuracy in data and rate entry, ensuring operational integrity
- Competent in CargoWise and capable of guiding customers
- Strong ability to resolve logistics challenges efficiently and effectively
- Comfortable working collaboratively with operations, origin offices, and internal support functions
