About The Role
We are seeking a skilled professional to lead our clinical psychology team and provide advanced clinical expertise, supervision, and leadership in the delivery of high-quality care that is responsive to the complex needs of patients and families.
* Providing psychological support to children and adolescents diagnosed with neuromuscular conditions such as Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) and Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA).
* Supporting emotional wellbeing, adjustment to diagnosis, treatment adherence, and developmental transitions for young people living with life-limiting conditions.
* Evaluating and reporting on outcomes of the psychological service and contributing to a sustainable service model.
* Collaborating with families to promote understanding of diagnoses, guide healthcare decisions, and strengthen coping and communication.
* Promoting wellbeing, supporting informed decision-making, and addressing issues related to self-esteem, identity, social relationships, and mental health.
Key Responsibilities:
1. To assess and develop treatment plans for patients with neuromuscular conditions.
2. To provide consultation and education to medical professionals and other caregivers about effective treatments and best practices.
3. To participate in multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and management of patients.
4. To contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that support the delivery of high-quality patient care.
5. To maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient interactions and interventions.
Requirements:
* A doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology or a related field.
* At least 5 years of experience working with patients with neuromuscular conditions.
* Advanced training and certification in areas relevant to the role.
* Skill in developing and implementing treatment plans and providing psychotherapy services.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
