a'Mare is seeking experienced Senior Sommeliers and Wine Waiters to become part of our award-winning team. This is a rare opportunity to work in one of Sydney's most prestigious restaurants, renowned for its luxury Italian dining, impeccable service, and extensive wine program.
Since opening in 2020 under the direction of Chef Alessandro Pavoni, a'Mare has received multiple accolades, including Best New Wine List at the 2021 Australia's Wine List of the Year Awards.
What You'll Do
* Recommend and serve wines with appropriate glassware and service techniques
* Provide expert food and wine pairing advice, particularly with Italian cuisine
* Engage guests with a confident, warm, and educational approach to wine
* Collaborate with the Head Sommelier to manage wine stock and wastage reporting
* Share wine knowledge with the front-of-house team to elevate overall service
* Uphold our high standards of presentation and hospitality during service
Essential Requirements
* Australian working rights
* Current NSW RSA Certificate
* Proven knowledge of wine and food pairing, with a focus on Italian, French, and Australian wines
* Excellent spoken English and strong communication skills
* Hospitality qualifications or 12–36 months' experience in a sommelier or wine-focused role
* WSET Level 2 certification or equivalent wine qualification preferred
* Candidates with hospitality qualifications but no sommelier experience welcome, with comprehensive wine training provided
* A team-focused, guest-first attitude
