Join our team and be a part of our exciting journey to produce a diverse range of steel products.Job DescriptionWe are currently seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to join our growing team.The key objective of this role is to ensure dimensional accuracy and compliance of steel components prior to welding and post, based on technical specifications and strong workshop drawing interpretation. You will play a critical role in ensuring fabrication quality by identifying non-conformances early in the process and supporting a culture of precision and continuous improvement.This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret complex drawings, and great communication skills to work alongside supervisors, fabricators, and welders.Key Responsibilities:Conduct dimensional inspections of steel components prior to welding and postInterpret workshop drawings and fabrication standards to assess complianceIdentify, report and support rectification of non-conformancesCollaborate with fabrication and welding teams to uphold quality expectationsAssist in maintaining and improving fabrication quality systemsSupport a proactive quality culture through early detection and preventionQualifications:Proven experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment, or quality system rolesStrong ability to read and interpret engineering/workshop drawingsExcellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to inspectionsEffective communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environmentPrior QA/QC experience in steel fabrication or related field (preferred)Understanding of pre-weld processes and inspection protocols.Additional Information:At Thornton Engineering, we value our employees and provide a supportive and collaborative work environment.
