Job Description
* This role is responsible for providing support and assistance to residents and shelter users, ensuring their needs are met and they receive the necessary resources to achieve their goals.
* The successful candidate will work closely with the site supervisor and team lead to identify clients' problems, needs, and risks, and develop individualized plans to address these issues.
* Key responsibilities include:
o Conducting basic individual counselling sessions using techniques such as active listening and conflict resolution;
o Providing life skills training and education to promote independent living;
o Maintaining accurate records and statistics to ensure effective service delivery;
o Liaising with community agencies and professionals to provide comprehensive support services;
o Responding to medical emergencies and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Diploma in a related human/social service field;
* A minimum of one year recent related experience;
* Basic computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
* Training in or knowledge of non-violent crisis intervention techniques and harm reduction approach;
* Knowledge of community resources and services available to shelter users and residents.
