About the Role
The Classroom Assistant play a key role in supporting student learning, engagement, and wellbeing at Alesco. Working closely with teachers and campus staff, the Classroom Assistant helps students access the curriculum, participate in lessons, and develop essential learning and social skills.
This role provides one-on-one, small-group and general classroom support to students with a wide range of needs, including learning difficulties, disabilities, and social or emotional challenges, ensuring an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Please Note: This is a fixed term, part-time roles at 24 hours per week worked Monday to Friday until 18/12/2026.
Key Responsibilities
* Support teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive classroom lessons.
* Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students.
* Assist students with literacy, numeracy and wellbeing goals.
* Reinforce positive behaviour expectations and model respectful conduct.
* Implement trauma-aware and inclusive practices aligned with Alesco's model.
* Prepare and organise learning materials and classroom resources.
* Assist with classroom organisation, assessments and technology use.
* Supervise students during class, breaks, transitions and excursions.
* Maintain accurate student records, including NCCD entries.
* Collaborate with teachers and wellbeing staff to support students holistically.

* Minimum completion of Higher School Certificate.
Atwea College requires:
* Valid NSW Working With Children Check and current National Criminal Police Record Check prior to the commencement of employment (or willingness to obtain).
* Child Protection Training, or willingness to obtain.
* Drivers Licence.
