Zenergy is excited to partner with one of our major clients to seek an experienced and hands‑on Project HSE Manager to support a major brownfield project based in South Gippsland, Victoria. This is a project role, providing HSE leadership across civil construction and decommissioning works.
About the Role
The role will suit a practical safety professional who enjoys being embedded on site, building relationships, and creating safe systems from the ground up. FIFO / DIDO arrangements will be considered for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide HSE leadership and support during civil and construction works (including concreting and pad development).
* Manage and engage with principal and subcontractors to ensure compliance and safe project delivery.
* Develop and implement site safety plans and systems aligned with safety standards.
* Facilitate contractor pre-starts, toolbox talks, and HSE coordination meetings.
* Partner closely with operations and project management teams to balance construction and BAU activities.
* Address industrial interface challenges, working effectively with both unionised and non-unionised workgroups.
* Promote a collaborative, approachable, and solutions-focused safety culture onsite.
About You
* Tertiary qualifications in Health, Safety & Environment or related discipline.
* Proven experience in project‑based construction safety management (civil / concreting experience highly regarded).
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, particularly in regional or industrial environments.
* Ability to navigate complex contractor interfaces and maintain productive union relationships.
* Practical, down‑to‑earth approach with strong problem‑solving capability.
