This role is fixed-term from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2029.

About the Role

The Project Support Officer contributes towards strategic initiatives in early childhood education by supporting program implementation, local area engagement and general team support in the Assessment for Learning team. This role is critical in supporting the Assessment for Learning team to execute multiple programs for our early childhood education stakeholders, including the Early Years Learning and Assessment Tool (EYALT) and Transition Learning and Development Statements (TLDS), among other priorities. Key stakeholders are both external to the department (e.g. kindergarten teachers and services) and within the department (e.g. Kindergarten Improvement Advisors and regional office colleagues).

Day to day activities could include responding to stakeholder enquiries, supporting data and records management in the team and coordinating program activities and communications.

* Project Delivery: Executes work tasks against a plan, prioritises tasks in line with urgency and impact when plans are not defined, utilises approved task management tools, and maintains accurate project records.
* Stakeholder Management: Responds to stakeholders' needs, keeps stakeholders up to date with issues and developments, follows through on inquiries, requests and complaints promptly, and takes responsibility for correcting problems promptly.
* Customer Focus: Understands customer requirements and how work addresses customer needs, identifies opportunities to improve services and is committed to delivering high quality outcomes for customers.
Qualifications and Experience
* Required: Provide a current Working with Children Check.
* Preferred: May be required to complete a police check and may be subject to other pre-employment checks.
