In this role you will provided high‐quality financial support across a range of portfolios, ensuring accurate financial processing, analysis, budgeting support, and revenue and funding compliance. The role plays a key part in supporting month‐end processes, maintaining data integrity, strengthening financial governance, and improving financial literacy across operational teams. Working closely with the Lead – Finance Business Partner and operational leaders, the position supports informed decision‐making through effective stakeholder engagement and reliable financial insights.
You'll deliver this role by:
* Prepare and post journals, accruals, prepayments and cost reallocations for multiple portfolios.
* Complete month-end reconciliations and support timely financial close processes.
* Maintain accurate cost centre, funding stream and program‐level financial data.
* Provide financial support to service managers, including expenditure tracking and revenue analysis.
* Ensure correct coding of income and expenditure grants, client funding and service lines.
* Assist with annual budgets, rolling forecasts and financial modelling.
* Produce variance analysis, workforce cost analysis and financial insights.
* Support revenue recognition, claiming validation and reconciliation of program income.
* Monitor unclaimed revenue, billing exceptions and system data integrity.
* Maintain accurate coding for minor assets and support capitalisation/depreciation processes.
* Ensure expenditure complies with procurement policies and Delegations of Authority.

What We're Looking For
* Bachelor's degree in accounting and finance.
* Experience in financial analysis, accounting support or management reporting.
* Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to interpret complex financial and operational data for decision making.
* Advanced proficiency with ERP systems and analytics/reporting tools (eg. Power BI).
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Well‐developed verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly.
* Strong organisation and time management skills, with the demonstrated ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
* Competency in the Microsoft Office Suite including advanced excel skills.
A Valuable Addition, Yet Not a Must-Have!
* CPA of CA accreditation, or equivalent Australian recognition.
* Experience with TechnologyOne or similar accounting systems.
* Proof of COVID‐19 vaccination status (or as required by legislation and WMQ policy)
* Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ Limited policy.
* Current Driver's Licence and willingness to travel for work
