We are looking for a pastry chef with experience to work in our friendly small family-run patisserie shop.
Key responsibilities include
Decorating cakes, petit gateaux, tarts, and slices for our display cabinet
Masking and decoration of celebration cakes
Preparation and lamination of doughs biscuits and cookies
Preparing fillings: curds, custards, compotes, jams, creams and glazes.
Thoroughly cleaning pastry kitchen
Making stock list
Job Requirements
Compliance with Occupational Heath and Safety requirements in the kitchen. Ensuring a clean workspace for all preparation to take place at work place.
Preparing pastry fillings
Knowledge and use of industrial ovens, while also watching timings and adhering to recipes.
Coordinating doughs for cakes.
Glazing buns and pastries, and decorating cakes with cream and custom icings
Ability to follow recipes accurately
Experience in masking and decorating cakes is essential
Passion and excitement for pastry and a willingness to learn
Multitasking is essential
Time management skills are essential
Able to work independently and shows initiative
A clear understanding and application of HACCP principals
Experience:
Pastry Chef: at least 2 years in the industry(Preferred)
Patisserie Qualification:
Certificate III or IV in Patisserie (Preferred)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.95 – $35.00 per hour
