Commis Chef I Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and passionate Commis Chef to join our team in Mornington.

The successful candidate will focus on basic food preparation tasks, support experienced chefs, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.

* Responsibilities:
* Prepare and cook menu items as per cooking guidelines and set standards.
* Support senior chefs and kitchen staff with various tasks, including food assembly and plating.
* Maintain control and leadership in the kitchen during service times in allocated section.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation.

This role requires standing for long periods of time, lifting boxes, kegs or stock, and utilizing stairs.

* Certificate 3 or 4 in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
* Food Handlers Certificate.
* Experience working in a fast-paced pub/bistro environment.
* Understanding of fundamental cooking methods and recipe execution.
* Willingness to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
* Full working rights in Australia.
