About the Role
We are seeking two enthusiastic Library Officers to join our Success Library team. Reporting to the Branch Coordinator, you will play a key role in delivering welcoming, inclusive and community‑focused library services. This position is primarily front‑of‑house and customer‑facing, providing high‑quality assistance to library patrons of all ages and backgrounds.
You will actively promote literacy, digital inclusion and lifelong learning through customer interactions, programmes and access to library resources. You will also support a range of workroom functions such as interlibrary loans, materials processing, room bookings and programme delivery. While based at Success Library, you may be required to work occasional shifts at other branches to support service delivery. These positions are part‑time, 38 hours per fortnight.
About You
You are passionate about libraries, community engagement and delivering high‑quality customer service in a public‑facing environment. You enjoy working with people of all ages and backgrounds and are confident responding to a wide range of customer needs with professionalism, empathy and sound judgement. You bring strong written, verbal and digital communication skills and are comfortable assisting customers with library systems, self‑service technology, online resources and general digital enquiries.
You actively support literacy and digital inclusion and are able to apply policies and procedures effectively to deliver consistent, inclusive service. You work well as part of a team and are adaptable, flexible and responsive to changing priorities. You are committed to continuous learning and improvement and are willing to contribute across both front‑of‑house and workroom functions to support the smooth operation of the library.
You will also bring:
* Demonstrated experience in a customer service or community‑focused role
* Strong digital literacy, including the ability to assist customers with online resources and technology
* Ability to work collaboratively and support colleagues through training and teamwork
* Physical capability to safely undertake manual handling and shelving tasks
* Completion of Year 12 or a Certificate III or IV in Library and Information Services (or equivalent)
Desirable experience and requirements include:
* Experience working in a public library environment
* Experience supporting or delivering children's and adult programmes
* Familiarity with library management systems such as Spydus
Salary and Benefits:
Starting from Level Three Step 1– Step 4 ($77,467.20 - $82,766.14 on a pro‑rata basis) City of Cockburn Industrial Agreement 2025 based on qualifications and experience.
