About the opportunity
We're looking for a skilled Technical Writer to create and maintain high-quality work instructions that support frontline clinical and operational teams across Healthdirect's key services – including the Healthdirect Helpline, GP Helpline, and Medicare Mental Health. In this vital role, you'll collaborate with experts to deliver clear, accurate, and accessible documentation that meets governance standards, supports new service rollouts, and enhances the clinician experience. Key responsibilities:
* Create clear, accurate work instructions through collaboration with subject matter experts
* Maintain documentation governance and quality standards
* Drive innovation to improve efficiency and scalability of documentation processes
* Support new services and initiatives with appropriate technical documentation
* Enhance user experience for clinicians accessing work instructions
* Prioritise needs of the various services and prioritise the work instruction support
About You
We're seeking someone with exceptional technical writing skills, strong collaboration abilities, and a passion for continuously improving documentation practices. To succeed in this role, you'll bring:
* Proven experience developing a range of instructional materials, including Work Instructions, Process Flows, FAQs, and technical guides
* The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, large-scale environment and adapt quickly to changing business needs
* A track record of engaging with stakeholders at multiple levels to align on clear outcomes
* Expertise in managing complex documentation, including version control and governance
* A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, with a strong focus on clarity, structure, and usability in written content
