Job Description
As a Demi Chef, you will support the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations while ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation. This is a great opportunity for a motivated culinary professional looking to advance their career.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items to high standards
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of your work station
* Ensure food safety, hygiene, and WHS standards are followed at all times
* Support stock control, ordering, and minimisation of wastage
* Work collaboratively with the kitchen team during service
* Step up in the absence of senior chefs when required
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a similar role or as a Commis Chef
* Relevant culinary qualification (Cert III/IV in Commercial Cookery preferred)
* Experience with fine-dining presentation and cooking styles, across all sections (cold larder, pans, fryer).
* Experience working in a HACCP environment, with strong understanding of food safety compliance.
* Ability to adhere to portion control, food waste, and production procedures.
* Strong attention to detail and passion for food
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Team player with excellent communication skills
* Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
